 Who we are looking for:

  • Minimum three (3) years Key Account Management experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.

  • Experience in business development with a pioneering attitude

  • A strong negotiator with exceptional analytical and presentation skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and direct strategies

  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships

Key responsibilities

  • Implement & develop sales plans and coordinate marketing strategies for defined key accounts, within the context of the overall National Metcash plan, ensuring new opportunities are introduced to achieve growth in market share along with protecting the current core business.
  • Manage budget to ensure brand sales are maximized to full potential without diminishing brand values and developing co-marketing initiatives such as account specific consumer promotions and bonus packs
  • Complete quarterly business reviews to both internal and external managers with the objective of identifying opportunities. Implement strategies to ensure the company remains competitive with ongoing business growth.
  • Analyse competitive performance and implement actions to minimize threats and identify opportunities to maximize sales and ranging whist minimizing opportunities for deletions.
  • Communicate effectively with key internal (field) and external business partners building strong relationships; gaining alignment in delivering customer centric solutions.
  • Work with local SA State - Sales Area Manager to ensure overall commercial success, act as a role model or mentor to other sales representatives to assist in their development and extend their skills and expertise.
